I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture at The Ohio State University with Honors and Distinction in Drawing & Painting. In addition, I have experience in a Master of Fine Arts program under Fiber Arts and completion of a Moving & Interactive Sculpture Course using Arduino coding. However, I concentrate on creating large soft sculptures; transforming fabric into contemporary works of art that are visually and tangibly exciting. My works aim to cater to the participants' sense of touch through their tactile quality and are made to be squeezed, stretched, and played with! I possess a refined sense of attention to detail and accuracy in my work that allows me to fabricate patterns for each sculpture to fit specific areas and spaces, even the human body!
I am interested in developing conversations between the materiality of sculpture and the developed surface of painting and specialize in creating whimsical environments & costumes. Working in a wide range of media, including, but not limited to: wood, metal, fiber, painting, and simple electrical wiring, I create works and spaces that have a playful manner, but also address important issues.
